January 9, 1970 Luzon Brokerage Corporation Mary Bachrach Building Port Area, Manila Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated January 8, 1970 requesting in effect information as to the proper rate of tax due and payable on the importation of your client, Kodak Philippines Limited of photographic Cameras covered by Boac Air Waybill No. 061-6808 472. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that pursuant to Republic Act No. 6110 which repealed subsection (j) of Section 185 of the Tax Code, the importation in question is now subject to only 7% advance sales tax under the provision of Section 186 of the same Code. aisa dc Very truly yours, MISAEL P.
