February 11, 1977 New set of books of account BIR not authorized to register This refers to your letter dated November 1, 1976 informing this Office that the former President of your client, Hacienda Buenas, a domestic corporation, Manila refused to surrender the 1976 books of accounts of the corporation to its present officers; and that said books are necessary so that you can prepare the income tax return of the corporation for the year 1976. You now request that your client be allowed to register new set of said books which, in effect, will replace the books now in the possession of said official. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that your request cannot be granted since there is no law or regulations which authorizes this Office to allow your client to register a new set of books of accounts for 1976 in lieu of the books in the custody of its former President. cdtai
