June 19, 1973 The Bagong Silang Drum & Bugle Corps Makati, Rizal Attention: Mr . Sulpicio Cruz Dumbrique Chairman, BSDBC Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated June 14, 1973 requesting information as to whether or not the Bagong Silang Drum & Bugle Corps of Makati, Rizal, duly registered with the BSP Headquarter as Explorer Post No. 69 is exempt from the payment of internal revenue taxes on the following: cdta 1. Importation of some foreign films for the purpose of putting up a benefit show in the Municipality of Makati, proceeds of which will go to the Bagong Silang Boy Scouts of Makati, Rizal. 2. Importation of certain number of musical instruments to be donated by some benevolent foreign firms to the Bagong Silang Drum and Bugle Corps thru the Makati Municipal Scouting Committee. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that importation of the said foreign films is subject to the specific tax prescribed in Section 146 of the Tax Code and the importation of the musical instruments for the use of the said Bagong Silang Drum & Bugle Corps is subject to the 7% compensating tax prescribed in Section 190 of the Tax Code, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 69. cdi Very truly yours, (SGD.)
