Samson Director of Finance Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated March 2, 1973 requesting that your importation of one (1) steel drum essential oil which arrived on board SS Clara Maersk last November 29, 1972 per Bill of Lading No. 43, to be used in the manufacture of your Three Flowers Medicated Pomade be subjected to the 7% advance sales tax. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that the aforesaid imported essential oil to be used in the manufacture of medicated pomade which is subject to the 7% sales tax per our ruling dated December 12, 1968, is subject to the 7% advance sales tax based on the landed cost thereof plus 25% mark-up pursuant to Section 183 (b) in relation to Section 186, both of the Tax Code. aisa dc Very truly yours, (SGD.)
