June 28, 1972 Reva Pharmaceutical 1048-A Josefa L. Escoda Manila Gentlemen : This refers to your letter of even date requesting information as to the rate of sales tax that is payable on the product denominated AFRIKANA medicated hair cream or liquid. The product has been certified by the Food and Drug Administration as a medicated preparation and registered as such in said Office under number DR-8124-72-5. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that said AFRIKANA medicated cream and liquid is subject to only 7% sales tax. This will serve as authority for the Commissioner of Customs in effecting the release of your importation of said product upon payment of the 7% sales tax due thereon. Very truly yours, MISAEL P.
