May 23, 1975 Mr. Marcial G. Tanwangco P.O. Box 591 Manila S i r : This refers to your letter dated March 18, 1975 requesting clarification relative to the issuance of sales invoices. It is stated in your letter that Progressive Poultry Supplies located at 1013-B E. De los Santos Ave. sells feeds and medicines; that when their sales is below P50.00 to a single customer, they do not issue sales invoices for the reason that the amount of the sales appearing in the cash register tapes given to a customer are considered sales invoices. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that upon verification by an internal revenue official to the foregoing statements made in your letter, it was ascertained that Progressive Poultry Supplies was authorized by this Bureau to use a cash register machine in lieu of sales invoices or receipts for sales made not exceeding P49.99; and that for sales of P50.00 or more, the said establishment uses a sales invoice in booklet form. In view of the foregoing findings, the cash register receipts for sales below P50.00 is sufficient compliance of the provisions of the Bookkeeping Regulations relative to the issuance of sales invoices or receipts. aisa dc Very truly yours, (SGD.)
