May 17, 1968 Mr. Jose B. Bolano 131 Ampere St., Palanan Makati, Rizal S i r : This refers to your letter dated April 22, 1968, stating, among others, that you had been assigned as Administrative Officer, Chief Anti-Smuggling Committee, and as Third Secretary and Vice Consul in the Philippine Embassy, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; that upon your recall to the home office due to your compulsory retirement last August 11, 1967, you brought home tax-free under Republic Act No. 4112 aside from your personal and household effects, a 1967 Pontiac, Grand Prix, two door car with Motor No. 469093XH and LTC Plate No. 22062 (1968); and that due to the high cost of maintaining a car in Manila, you are contemplating to sell the car to a non-exempt person. You now request that you be allowed to sell the car in question to a non-exempt person without paying the taxes and duties due thereon. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that the sale of the aforecited car is not subject to tax, hence, the same may be registered in the name of the prospective buyer without requiring him to pay the tax due thereon. iatdc Very truly yours, (SGD.)
