Box 761, Manila Gentlemen : In reply to the query contained in your letter dated November 28, 1973, I have the honor to inform you that the travellers checks drawn or issued in the Philippines by a commercial bank and payable on demand to the payee anywhere are each subject to the documentary stamp tax of P0.04, pursuant to Section 216 of the Tax Code, and also to the science stamp tax in the equivalent amount, pursuant to Republic Act No. 5448. aisa dc Very truly yours, (SGD.)
