Gavino Chief Accountant Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated January 3, 1969 stating as follows: "This is in connection with the 100% increase in the documentary stamps to be affixed on checks effective January 1, 1969. "Please enlighten us on what to do about the checks that we sold to our clients prior to January 1, 1969 inasmuch as some of these checks will be issued by them in 1969." In reply, I have the honor to inform you that the checks sold prior to January 1, 1969 but used or issued on or after said date shall be subject to the science stamp tax. cdta Very truly yours, (SGD.)
