Manapsal 20 Mangachapoy, Proj. 7, Quezon City S i r : This refers to your letter of January 31, 1969 requesting information as to whether or not a retired member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines is exempt from the filing of income tax return and payment of the additional Residence Tax (Class B). In reply, I have the honor to inform you that under R.A. 2310, all retirement pension received from the Armed Forces of the Philippines are exempt from income tax. Since you have no income other than your pension, you are not required to file any income tax return. You are also exempt from the payment of residence tax (Class B) as the value of your real property as represented by you, is less than P5,000.00. cdtech Very truly yours, (SGD.) MISAEL P.
