August 6, 2003 BIR MEMORANDUM TO : DCIR, Operations Group DCIR, Legal and Inspection Group DCIR, Large Taxpayers Service All Regional Directors All Revenue District Officers Other Officials Concerned This refers to Letters of Authority (LAs) issued by offices at the National Office. It was noted that said LAs are served by National Office Revenue Officers assigned to specific taxpayers regardless of the proximity of the address/location of the offices of these taxpayers, thus incurring enormous amount of travelling expenses in the process. Due to budgetary constraints and in line with the government's call to observe austerity measures, the aforecited LAs shall be served by the Regional Office/Revenue District Office nearest to the concerned taxpayer's registered address. This order shall take effect immediately. (SGD.) GUILLERMO L. PARAYNO, JR. Commissioner of Internal Revenue
